    An inspiring peek into history

This special issue of "Survey Graphic" was a seminal, prototypical entry in defining New Negro identity and artistry before Locke published his renowned anthology later that year. The fact that Black Classic Books has made it available for purchase and research is invaluable, and the product itself is an incredible reproduction! I couldn't recommend it more and can't thank BCB enough for making it available!

I couldn’t wait to read it!

My expectations were high and they were more than met. I’d head about this prelude to the New Negro and finally got to read it as Alain Locke intended. What more could I ask for?
